NIDUS VARIANT
Unleashing disease and plague with contagious spores, this Aegis spreads deadly viruses, lethal toxins, and caustic vapors that rapidly decompose enemies while invigorating their progenitor. Recombinant properties of its biological weapons result in volatile mutations, drastically increasing the potency of the wearer's abilities. The wearer continues to pollute the atmosphere with a lethally poisonous mist that corrodes all enemies in range through these spores, which grow on any surface. These venomous attacks are horrifyingly effective against organic and synthetic enemies. The Aegis' appearance changes as battle goes on. At three minutes, tendrils will protrude from your neck and upper spine, while the carapace around your chest-plate will open. At five through seven minutes respectively, the carapace around your thighs and arms will open to reveal more infested flesh and tendrils beneath. At ten minutes, certain sections of your currently-equipped Aegis helmet will open up, and many more tendrils will be exposed.
Desecrate: Your hands can eject an infested larva toward a targeted location over unrestricted range. Upon impact, the larva rapidly matures into a floating mass of infested tentacles that sprouts tendrils to grab all enemies within a radius of multiple meters. Affected enemies are forcibly rag-dolled and pulled into the mass, becoming unable to move or attack while grotesquely meshing together within the writhing whirlpool of flesh. The larva will wither away when it has no enemies to grip, is cast when no enemies are in range.
Regenerative Molt: The Nidus Aegis' ability to "shed" its skin makes the wearer very elusive. This can work as a decoy to draw fire from your enemies, meanwhile you're advancing from the shadows. Snakes shed their skin to allow for further growth and to remove parasites that may have attached to their old skin. Likewise, the wearer does this by creating a rip across your Aegis' forehead, emerging from it and clearing yourself from any other passive techniques. Shedding one’s skin in combat however leaves you vulnerable for a period of time.
Parasitic Link: Bind to a target with a parasitic link. The wearer expends a decent amount of energy to perform symbiosis with a targeted organic mass within several meters or parasitical link with a targeted enemy within an even closer proximity. The link persists as long as the wearer and its target remain in range of each other. Any damage that the wearer takes while this bond is made will only affect the receiving end of the link, effectively destroying it if enough damage is inflicted.
Organic Evolution: Epitome of the endlessly evolving infestation when harnessing your Aegis, the wearer bends the corruption to his/her will, mutating your genetic potency to adapt and assimilate your victims with a parasitic hunger. The wearer can evolve by absorbing and consuming organic biomass and gaining the abilities, traits, and attributes of the being the biomass was from. You can also evolve by absorbing information from objects you touch with your fingers, and in doing so, evolving yourself to the power levels of those much stronger than you.
Self-Replication: Should one of your limbs be removed from your body, the wearer can create a clone of itself from that limb.
