ZAR'ROC
Distant thunder rumbled, a dread forewarning of 'Vadam's displeasure.
-Description of 'Vadam's temper flaring at a meeting with a Reclaimer sympathizer.
Zar'roc is a grossly oversized broadsword that stands at 9½ feet long, making it almost two times as long as its wielder is tall. It takes the typical shape expected of a broadsword with an obvious curvature due to its advanced length and width. It has a ringed guard that pushes inward on each of its corners, giving it a shape resembling a clover. The sheath is black and emblazoned with the imagery of a wolf in various poses across its width. Due to the size of his blade, the wielder cannot carry it as other weapons would traditionally be carried and instead keeps it in something called Cloud-Lock. Cloud-Lock refers to a method that the first wielder, 'Thel Vadam, used to store some of his arsenal, deep inside Elysium's atmosphere where the thunderclouds and perpetual storms are dense enough to carry physical objects. This did not only serve to constantly charge up the strength of Zar'roc, but to summon whenever he wished.
Zar'roc is the strongest lightning-type weapon known to Annunaki-kind next to Keranos, and does not need the presence of natural lightning in order to facilitate its abilities, instead it is powered purely by the wielder's Light and force of will.
Stage One, Tame the Chaos: The release of Zar'roc is marked by a massive outburst of electrified energy that spills out from you, pouring into the surrounding environment, an effect which is capable of harming and even outright killing those caught in its wake. Its form changes to that of a double-edged longsword whilst also resembling an executioner's sword. The hilt becomes rounded and golden and the image of a large wolf with wings is emblazoned upon it.
Zar'roc gives the wielder the ability to generate and manipulate lightning at a much higher scale, Zar'roc becoming coated in an electrical charge which nips and lashes at opponents as you attack, and can be actively bolstered by your Light to give this passive a much greater range. The bolts of electricity emitted by the blade are compressed and extremely dense with Light, such that they brim with heat, capable of producing burns even when your attacks deal only a glancing blow. The power of Zar'roc is such that it can be used to generate and amass lightning at will, regardless of the current conditions of the surrounding environment. As well, it can force the emission of natural lightning under its command, to the extent of doing so even when a natural lightning strike would be seen as impossible.
-Cast Down Power: The wielder is bathed in a constant electrical charge, visible as yellow sparks running across his/her form every few seconds. Each time the user delivers a successful strike to an opponent, the charge is transferred to the target where it lingers, though dealing no harm. Each charge that is attached to her target causes the holes on the edge of Zar'roc to light up until all three are lit. Once they are, he is able to summon lightning from Elysium in order to strike at the victim, and fate manipulation will ensure that it must hit. The strength of these lightning bolts is dependent on the amount of charges Zar'roc has attached to a specific target, three is only the minimum in order for the user to use the ability. Whenever a bolt is fired, the charges are "reset" and you must strike more times in order to accumulate the next one.
-Hold The Grave Power: The user sheathes Zar'roc into a “void” (actually a portal to the Cloud-Lock) and begins bathing it in electrical energy with a unique potency; it fills up the void as if it was made of liquid, almost literally bathing Zar'roc in electricity. It is an advanced concentration of its own energy. It takes a massive degree of concentration and cannot be interrupted once started or the construction of the liquid lightning, or it will collapse, resulting in a self-harming explosion. Once prepared, the user lashes out with a single slash. The ability is extremely powerful and of such concentration of energy that it can break almost any known defense with sheer strength alone.
Stage Two, Mega'a Beraduna (Bringing the Thunder): The user takes Zar'roc into a reverse grip before resting the sword against the length of their arm, the arm outstretched ahead of them and the hilt of the sword pointed outward. A yellow energy begins to build up around you, generating an illuminating outline. A massive degree of Light is then released all around you, covering a great radius. A massive bolt of lightning then descends upon the wielder to obscure you from view for the few crucial seconds needed for the technique to complete its transformation. The changes incurred by this technique exclusively affect the user while Zar'roc retains its form. The users attire is completely replaced with a suit of armor made up of several white plates with golden outlines. The chest-plate is high collared, with a fur lining running across the rim, but wide, exposing your neck.
The release of Zar'roc is an enormous expulsion of energy which permeates and suffuses throughout the current environment. It has the passive effect of enhancing the electromagnetic fields of objects in a massive radius around Zar'roc, causing items that regularly wouldn't to become magnetized and generating visible electrical sparks throughout the corresponding area. This power electrifies the very air, resulting in an extremely dense atmosphere that exudes an ethereal tension.
A gargantuan sea of storm clouds forms above the user, covering a 10 kilometre wide radius with you at the centre, always at the very heart of this configuration as you become the "eye of the storm.” If you move, then the clouds do so as well in order to maintain that positioning. The storm generates a great deal of electrical energy that the user can freely manipulate at any time. The clouds gathered above are said to be a representation of Zar'roc’s amassed energy, and that they slowly fade away the more prolonged this technique becomes. There are a total of 1000 clouds (estimated) gathered within the storm as such it is estimated that 100 of these clouds account for a tenth of your total power.
Zar'roc is now wreathed in lightning which can be freely molded by the user. By default it is surrounded by relatively minor flickering bolts running across its length, but you can increase or decrease the amount of electrical energy coursing across it at will. Through this ability, the user is able to deliver lightning-based attacks to the opponent through Zar'roc in varied means, aside from the natural forms lightning typically takes, the wielder has the capacity to alter its form to great degrees, such as encapsulating the entire body in lightning shaped to resemble the head of a wolf.
The sheer amount of energy that the user uses to saturate the area in energy gives you a great degree of control over both the land and the skies as instruments or batteries of Zar'roc’ abilities. You can freely summon intense bolts of lightning from the amassed storm clouds as well as generate bolts from beneath the ground to strike at targets, through the exceedingly simple means of pointing the sword at wherever you seek to attack. The amount of energy released by these bolts is enormous, with 'Thel having remarked that they emit roughly 65 terajoules per individual bolt, enough to immediately erase anyone before him.
-Inhuman Fulgurite: The user raises Zar'roc towards the sky before gathering all of the electrical energy from the area towards him/herself. Everything the user has expelled during the activation of the second stage, every inkling of released energy returns to Zar'roc, bathing the user in a veritable maelstrom of electricity. It is the last and most powerful this stage's abilities, as through it you essentially become lightning itself. During this time you are capable of moving at impossible speeds, far beyond the capabilities associated with teleportation, at a speed comparable to that of light itself, virtually blinking in and out of existence between locations. On the opposite extreme, you become intensely fragile where a single mistake is all that would be needed to end your life prematurely.
-Answer to the Gods: This stage allows the user to use a technique referred to as Answer to the Gods, where-by you bind your opponent with the lightning that surrounds Zar'roc, holding them in place with a gravitational suspender whilst the user gathers all that remains on the very tip of the sword, then delivers a single strike with enough power to completely erase that being from existence. Usage of the ability immediately seals off Zar'roc into Cloud-Lock regardless of whether it hits the target or not. And though bound, opponents are not incapable of escaping the attack. The energy is discharged from the blade regardless of what it strikes, be it flesh, stone, or open air. Using the ability deals both severe damage to the user, Zar'roc and permanently diminishes the amount of energy the user has by a small fraction.
Mine is The Fury, Hear Me Roar: The clouds are divinely connected to the lightning, and like so many deities immortalized in the mythologies of the world, the wielder is able to use his absolute control over the element to bring even the clouds to do his bidding. The most basic expression of this would be calling a storm, gathering entire cloud formations together whether naturally or forced into being so that you can wield the powers of a storm without draining your own reserves, but being capable of so much more than just bringing the clouds forth. As Zar'roc can bend and transform electricity, you can also wield the clouds in the same way. The clouds act like an extension of Zar'roc’s being in this state, embodying his tremendous physical power even though a cloud would be expected to be far less threatening. The user can weave the clouds as if they were great beasts, soaring through the air to strike or defend the user but the most ostentatious of these feats is the inclination 'Thel had towards donning the clouds. When someone managed to prove a threat to 'Thel, his typical reaction was to leap headlong into the atmosphere and bathe in the storms he had amassed upon the battlefield. Swirling them around himself, he transformed the storm into a gargantuan raiment to wear. He gazed down upon the battlefield within the guise of a titan, a monolithic structure composed entirely of clouds and wrapped up in lightning. He could form gigantic fists with strength enough to topple mountains and swirl the winds beneath him to create hurricanes. As he became steeped in his own element, 'Thel's lightning-based powers also experienced a sharp increase in strength, bringing forth feats said to be beyond even the divine in nature.
